A fresh pasta sauce

A pasta sauce is easy to make ánd it contains lots of (hidden) vegetables. Because you put the vegetables in the blender, it looks like a smooth sauce. Ideal for children.

Do you have pasta sauce left over? Freeze it in portions and save for your next dish.
Getting Started

Cut the tomatoes, bell pepper, mushrooms and onion into large pieces. Put everything in a large (soup) pan. Add the garlic cloves as well.

Put the pan over medium-high heat for about 10 minutes, until the vegetables are a bit softer. The vegetables do not need to be cooked through. Stir the vegetables regularly.

Put all the vegetables in a blender or use a hand blender. In this way, blend the vegetables into a smooth sauce. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Add some (fresh) basil for more flavour if required.

You can now use the pasta sauce to prepare pasta or spaghetti as usual.
